Looking for that great mother’s day activity for the bird lover in your life or just a great opportunity to get out birding? Fly on over to the Horicon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge May 8th thru the 12th for a flock of great opportunities. Marsh Haven Nature Center along with the Blue Heron Landing, Horicon Marsh Bird Club, WI DNR, and Horicon National Wildlife Refuge will be joining together to celebrate Migratory Bird Day and the many migratory birds that visit the Horicon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge. There will be boat tours of the marsh, bird hikes, presentations, bus trips, educational programs, and much much more throughout the weekend. There is something for all skill and ability levels!

Check out the Horicon Marsh Bird Festival website, https://horiconmarshbirdclub.com/bird-festival/, for a full list of events and details. Some events are free, some do require an RSVP and a fee, and you can register through the Marsh Haven Bird Festival website with up to date ticket availability. Come for part of a day, a couple days, or the whole weekend, and we guarantee you won’t be disappointed. You’ll have the opportunity to potentially see sandhill cranes, rose-breasted grosbeak, black-necked stilts, bald eagles, and many more migratory bird species.

Looking to fully immerse yourself in the marsh for the weekend? Marsh Haven Nature Center offers Primitive tent camping for $20 per night, and you can wake up to the sound of the marsh wildlife and see the amazing sun rise and sunset over the marsh. All firewood is provided for the communal fire pit. Contact our director at 920-318-9518 or director@marshhaven.org to reserve your spot today!
